The Propagation Of The National Ideology In The Olympic Reports Of Tv

From the perspective of cultural studies, media is the platform for different ideologies to display oneself. Communication activities serve as a process for culture production and finding ideology. It makes us to think about these questions: how media products present ideology? What are their measures? How does ideology affect the media?2008 Beijing Olympic Games offer an opportunity to study these questions deeply, This paper takes <The News Co-broadcasting>for example and do the analysis on the news report of <The News Co-broadcasting> from 8th 8,2008 to 24th 8,2008.It summarizes the characteristics of the reports and further analyzes the ideological processing during the Olympic reports, thus finds the relationship between the reports and the national ideology.This paper firstly gives a basic introduction to the present situation of the relative analysis and the way this paper may uses, then fully introduces the theory about the relationship between the news report and the national ideology. This includes: the typical Marxism, the theory of Louis Althusser and the theory of Stuart Hall. All these serve as the theoretic basis for my conclusion.Secondly, this paper mainly focuses on the Olympic reports of <The News Co-broadcasting> and analyzes the main 7 aspects of the reports. Thus we can get a full and deep understanding of these repots. There are 3 ideological processing methods: politics override culture, agenda-setting and implicit encoding.Finally, this paper summarizes the experience and shortcoming of the reports. We should welcome the new reporting characteristics of <The News Co-broadcasting> during this big event, but as the main political propagator of our nation, it also has something to overcome. All these will offer some useful information in the further news report.
