With development of the Internet, the network media plays the key role on the communication of the country's image. Since the 2008 Beijing Olympics, China has successfully held the Olympic Games. The country's image has changed in the worldwide, it owes to the Olympic reports made by the Xinhua net which has played an important role in the establishment and communication of the national image. After the Olympics, the communication of China's national image made by the Xinhua net is still deserved to study.This paper makes the study on the communication of national image based on the Xinhua reports under the background of the Olympic period and Post-Olympic period. This article is divided into four parts, Chapter 1 is the relative concepts and review among the national image, Post-Olympics and network media. Chapter 2 and 3 are the analysis of the features of the Chinese national image communication made by the network on and after the Olympics. This paper takes the Olympic reports as the main study object, collects the whole year's reports related with the Olympic themes from the Xinhua net, to analyze these reports from the following aspects: the amount, resource, types, concerned fields and relevance about the Olympic themes. Based on these statistics, this paper concludes the features of the national image communication made by Xinhua net. Finally, this paper explores the problems faced by the Chinese national image communication by the network media during the Post-Olympic period, and gives some suggestions on the communication of Chinese national image in the network media.
