As china's Reform of College entrance examination, as well as enlarged enrollment in universities, the number of the students that attend various examinations increases year by year, this makes the school consume many resources to organize a series of testing work of students'examination every year. Traditional examination needs to waste a lot of manpower, material and financial resources, while online test has advantages of high organization efficiency and marking rapidly and accurately, greatly optimizes the examination work. Therefore, web-based online examination system has become the research hotspots nowadays, and organizations in colleges and universities has paid more and more attention to it.This article discusses the meanings of study, the application perspectives, and the main content of study of the WEB-based online examination system in detail; explains why the system chooses the B/S architecture; and analyses the ASP.NET which is the most popular web development framework; introduces the technology updating of IIS7.0.This article also details the demand analysis of the system based on the specific circumstances of my school, analyzes them by using UML modeling language and describes the development process. At the same time, the database of the system is given a detailed analysis and design, is decided to use the SQL Server to be the background database and be accessed by using ADO.NET technology. The system realizes six functional modules, including user login, system management, question management, management of examination papers, online examination management and grading management.. At last the article expound the result of testing the system and analyzing the security of the system. The result of testing testifies that this system basically meets the needs of my school.
