Research And Implementation Of Smart Online Exam System Based On Struts

As the development of computer network technology and the growth ofinformation technology, applications based on Web are penetration into almost everyaspect of today’s society. It’s a common practice to see portal websites, onlineshopping malls and social networks on the Internet. The online exam model based onWeb appears because of the combination of education and computer network. Itimplements the real paperless examination and solves disadvantages compared withthe traditional model. It integrates the process of question generation, onlineexamination, grade evaluation and paper assessment into one system. The workloadof a teacher is deeply reduced and the teaching level is greatly enhanced. Almost allthe possibilities of manual intervention are shielded, which leading to the increase ofthe objective and fairness of the exam. And by means of the Internet, people can takean exam anywhere, anytime, so it expands the flexibility of the exam. Web-basedonline exam model will be the develop tendency in the future.In our country, the traditional exam model is the majority. This model will notonly spend a large quantities of human and material resources, but also can notguarantee the secrecy and fairness of the paper and with no efficiency, so it isinsufficient to meet the requirements of modern exams. With the development andpopularization of computer network technology, there is a great need to turn thetraditional exam model into the online exam model. The web-based model raises thesecrecy and fainess of the paper, and it has the ability to make an evaluation of examresults automatically thus greatly reducing the workload.Nowadays, the web-based online exam system has the following basic functions:1. add, modify and delete questions;2. generate papers automatically;3. gradeevaluation;4. paper assessment. But most of the existing paper generationsubsystems can not come up to expectations. The quanlity of generated papers ispoor because of the obscure distinguish between knowledge and difficult of questions. Therefore, on the basis of previous studies on paper generation algorithms,this paper implements the paper generation function using k-means algorithm.This paper introduces the research background and state of the field of the onlineexam system, summarizes techniques correlation to the system, including JSP, MVCmodel, Struts Framework, Hibernate Framework, jQuery and cluster analysis, etc,then illustrates the architectue, database and model design and implementation ofonline exam system in detail.
