As the rapid development of mobile communication and computer communication, wireless communication study has entered a new area. People have higher and higher expectations of mobile devices than before. The demand on communication without base stations is increaseing well. Wireless Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) has grown out of nothing in the last 30 years and has applied to many places. Nodes in MANET can move freely, which serving as both a router and a host. Although MANET can meet many aspects of needs of people, there are still many challenges and problems in MANET due to its unique nature. As an indispensable and important component of the MANET, the study of routing algorithm is vital. Fisheye State Routing (FSR) protocol based on link-state is a proactive routing protocol, which is also fit for large networks and mobile networks. So it is a good research topic for studying FSR in different environments or improving FSR in other ways. This paper focuses on the study of FSR protocol. The main content includes: the main characteristics of MANET, the design of FSR protocol, the simulation of FSR protocol in different environments and QoS-based FSR protocol. The simulation software of the study is OMNeT++, which is used for building simulation model of the Ad Hoc network. Run and analyze FSR protocol under this simulation platform by changing different parameters. Through comparing with DSDV protocol come to the conclusion. Finally the paper simulates and analyzes QoS-based FSR protocol. The simulation results prove that FSR protocol has smaller control overhead, FSR protocol is suitable for large-scale and mobile network and QoS-based FSR protocol is better for QoS requirement network.
