The history of the development of masculine lifestyle magazines in mainland China was about 10 years.Although it was short, the result was amazing. Both the quantity and the development potential of the market, have a tendency towards catch-up feminine lifestyle magazines. Especialy after the 2008 financial crisis, masculine lifestyle magazines in mainlan China were doing fine and show a tendency to developed energetically, when the magazine industry in the world went through the cold winter.By selecting three representative masculine lifestyle magazines——《Esquire》,《FHM》,《wo men zhi》,this paper analyse the entire mainland market of masculine magazine, pointting out the reasons for the prosperity of masculine lifestyle magazines as well as the weaknesses revealed in the process of development. This paper emphatically discussed in the context of consumptive society that how deeply masculine magzines reflects male consumers. In addition, this paper also discussed the sexes perspective of masculine magazines.By research, I found that in masculine magazines, though the traditional "be seen"social position for women has not disappeared completely, it has been changed slightly. The traditional hegemonic male temperament has been challenged, and the new urban handsome guy are persued. Emerging urban fashion men are more concerned about women, trying to observe women with equal perspective, which is also a kind of social progress undoubtedly. Although the development momentum of masculine magazines is strong, after all,it is an emerging force.By discussing masculine magazines' market value and cultural influence, this paper hope to help the mainland masculine magazines develop healthily.
