With the rapid development of wireless communication technology and the sensor technology, the Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) technology began to gain more and more attention. For its advantage of convenient networking, low cost and low power consumption, the WSN is applied widely in military, environmental monitoring and medical health field, at the same time the various performance of the WSN was put forward higher requirements.For the most widely used small and medium scaled WSNs, because of its initial orientation, these WSNs have small coverage and limited data-handling capacity when they are used alone, and these WSNs usually use specialized communication protocols, this made it impossible to connect with the WSMs by the commonly used terminals. Those shortages will limit the application of WSN to some extent. Covering multiple independent WSNs by a Wireless LAN (WLAN) and adding the WLAN interface module and inter-network mechanism to the WSNs, can achieve the interconnecting of multiple WSNs, and at the same time connecting multiple independent WSNs can also expand the coverage of WSNs.This thesis firstly analyses the technology features and working mechanism of the SimpliciTI networking protocol which is a low power consumption simple small-scaled RF networking protocol proposed by TEXAS INSTRUMENT, based on this protocol, and use the CC1110 wireless communication chip based C51RF-PS wireless development system as the hardware platform, design and implement a small-scaled WSN which can monitor the ambient temperature and illumination intensity. Then, with this network as the representative of those kinds of small-scaled WSNs, designed a solution scheme for this WLAN interconnecting of WSNs, and implement it on software and hardware. After the implementation of communication between WSN and terminals in the WLAN, this thesis made the further improvement on the software of the WSN node, and implemented the remote control from the Monitoring Platform software installed on the computer to the WSNs.Finally, the test was done in the actual environment for the each function and wireless transmission performance of the interconnection system. The test results show that the interconnection system can operate normally in the actual environment, and achieved the expected purpose.
