Urban Residential Area, Car Parking Problems Of Countermeasures

This thesis studies on the automobile problem in resideotial district.Based on the investigation of resideotial parking and the summarization ofrelative studies, the thesis probes into the issue and try to find the so lution. The whole work consists of six chapters, the first part, serving as thebackground of further study, expounds the tehdency of the development ofautewbile in our cities. which caused residential parking problems.The 2nd part mainly talked about the evolvement of the residential parkingtheory from aboard, and some researches in our country, the historical processof the foreign residential planning rethods is systematically probed: frcmRadburn to "Post Car Traffic", to Woonerf, and to Transit Villages designto date.The 3rd part expatiated the constitutes of the living environments, locatedthe parking problems from the viewpoints of improving the quality of the livingenvironments.The 4th expounds the investigation of parking in 3 residential districtsin Xi'An, and analyses the results in aspects of vehicle volume, vehicle type,the traffic organizations, and parking behavior map at last sum up the parkingproblems.The 5th part analyses the two aspects about parking, the parking Style andthe design guide line for parking, which dominate the parking environments.The 6th part supply for some solutions of constructing a good parkingenvironment, while facing automobile problems in residential districts, fromviews of design and managements. Especially in the past ones, some suggestionsare proposed.
