Since the Chinese Economic Reform, China’s economic development is phenomenal in general, however, unequal development among different regions turns out to be a new issue:the central region develops lower than the East, even equals the West. In order to coordinate economic development among regions, the central government has established the China Western Development Strategy, the Northeast China Revitalization, and the Rise of Central China Plan. With the support of the Rise of Central China Plan, labor-intensive and resource-consuming enterprises located in the eastern coastal areas have shifted attention to the central regions. It promotes the economic development in the central regions, but damages the environment seriously as well. China started late to focusing on environmental protection. In recent years, the government have begun to establish and formulate polices to protect the environment, especially urban environment. However, this awareness is still weak and vague in rural areas. It should not be postponed any longer to protect environment in the central rural regions.Based on the literature reviews related to environmental protection, this paper takes Shucheng county, Anhui Province as an example, and practically discusses the pollution and protection of ecological environment in central rural regions.
