Research Of The Critical Success Factors Of ITIL Project Implementation Based On PMBOK

As the popularization of managing informationization,how to improve the IT service quality and efficiency becomes a focus of many CIOs.Among different standards of IT service,ITIL(IT Infrastructure Library),as the practical industry standard of IT service,has been implemented in many foreign companies with successful results and good response.However,the Success ratio of China companies who has actualized it is much lower than that of foreign companies.There are many reasons for this situation.Among them,the lack of a system to manage the implementation procedure of ITIL and insure the quality of the project is a important reason.This article researches on the critical success factors and system based on the classic PMBOK theories to control the whole process of ITIL implementation.The first part introduces the classic theories of IT service,ITIL and the content of project management and PMBOK theory.The second part focus on the ITIL implementation process and analyzes the failing reasons of ITIL project in China.According to the practical problems and theories,the third part analyses the critical success factor of ITIL based on nine body of knowledge and five process of PMBOK.The fourth part uses a case of a electronic commerce website to prove the result of this article.The fifth part is the conclusion part of the article and indicates deficiency and the future direction of the research.The innovation point of this article is studying of the ITIL implementation project in project management sight.Recent researches in this area mostly emphasize on technologies but ignore the management factors.This system and critical success factors based on PMBOK theories and successful implementation experience would be a good reference of future ITIL projects.
