Human resource practice(HRP) is one of the resources which firms obtain their competition advantages.HRP has important impacts on firms' survival and development.At present,the relationship between human resource management and the performance of firms has been one of the most important topics in the world.How does HRP affect on firm performance(FP)? How do the affects occur? How we can do to help firms to obtain competition advantages? Those are the challenges which researchers face.This paper aims to answer the questions above.The paper conducts an system research on the relationship between HRP and FP,basing on 100 manufacturing enterprises in China.This paper wants to prove that HRP has significant impacts on FP,help the managers to understand the complication of human resource management,and let HRP play its role in improving the performance of enterprises.That has oriented significance for enterprises to improve their performance and gain competitive advantages.There are small number of empirical studies on the relationship between HRP and FP in China,comparing to the west countrys.So the research findings in China are not consistent,and it is very difficult to get general conclusion.Basing on the the previous studies,using first hand enterprise survey data,this paper does an econometrical study on the relationship between HRP and FR First,we conduct a descriptive analysis on the status of HRM of Chinese enterprises.Second,we do regression to analyse the relationship between the practice of HRM activities (performance management,compensation,recruitment,training and labor relations management) and firm performance.It is proved that HRM activities really have significant impacts on enterprise performances. Finally,according to the results of empirical analysis,such suggestions as how to improve enterprises'HRM to enhance FP are proposed.
