Cambodia's main income is from tourism. The hotel industry is one of the leading industries which have made progress in her economy. With her increased opening-up to the outside world, the hotel industry will directly face serious challenges from the global market. This industry must improve its core competitiveness, invest capital for hotel human resources , increase innovation, find better cooperation, and develop hotel standards. The Raffles Hotel Le Royal is one of most famous hotels in Cambodia. But it has faced many challenges in its operations because of decreasing customer numbers and the intensification of competition. This paper presents its discoveries of the great challenges in the area of human resource management.Through the review of the relevant literature and a case study of Raffles Hotel Le Royal, the paper tries to study Cambodia's hotel human resource management problems to enhance her hotel development potential. The study draws on the successful experience of Chinese hotel human resource management to improve Cambodia's. Besides, it specifically focuses on culture-based human resource management style for hotels.The main parts of the paper are introduced briefly as follows:Chapter 1: Introduction. This describes the background and the significance of the study and contributions.Chapter 2: Review of related literatures. There are sections on Cambodia's hotel industry development and a literature review of human resource management.Chapter 3: Analysis of human resource management in Raffles Hotel Le Royal. This chapter introduces the background of the hotel, the practical use of human resource management in the hotel and summarizes the main problems of human resource management in the hotel.Chapter 4: Methods to better human resource management in the hotel. This discusses five main methods which includes: making scientific and reasonable personnel planning, standardizing recruitment, focusing on standardization and systematization of training, perfecting compensation, and constructing corporate culture in this hotel.Chapter 5: Conclusions. It includes the summary, recommendation on how to enlighten human resource management of Cambodian hotel and the limitations of my study.
