With the development of hotel industry, competitions of various hotels become more andmore fierce. Economical hotel is one of important hotel enterprises and its industry’s internalcompetitions have been beyond customer source competition, market competition, brandcompetition and so on. The economical hotel’s problems, such as recruitment difficulty,employee retention difficulty and so on, have become more and more serious while thecompetition of high quality human sources has come into the stage of fierce competition. Thus,it is a meaningful topic to research how to make the economical hotel’s human resourcemanagement develop reasonably, healthily and sequentially.At first, this paper introduces the research background and current situation of relevantdomestic and overseas researches while analyzes the theoretical significance and practicalsignificance of this research. Then, it systematically illustrates relevant theories of economicalhotel human resource management, including current situation, features, theoretical foundation,practical foundation, etc. On this basic, the paper conducts SWOT analysis on the hotel humanresource management of Qingdao Hotel Management College and Home Inn while makessummary and evaluation of the current situation of human resources in Qingdao HotelManagement College and Home Inn. At last, combining with the current situation and featuresof Qingdao Hotel Management College and Home Inn, the paper makes suggestions toenhance their human source management. Research shows that human resource managementmode of campus economic hotels which are on the foundation of cooperation betweenuniversity and enterprise makes college have a better understanding of talent qualityrequirements demanded by economic and social development. What’s more, it continuouslyimproves the reform of teaching content and teaching method in college, closely combinescareer education with social practice, promotes college to make an organic bond of thecultivation process of students and human resource requirements of hotels, makes thecultivated talents more adaptable to the requirements of hotel, industry and society, reduces therun-in period of staff and hotel, decreases training cost and labor cost of the hotel, and couldbe more efficient to improve hotel competitiveness. However, this human resourcemanagement mode still needs to be enhanced, and there are some weaknesses need to be improved in aspects of legal protection, cooperation motivation, resources arrangement and soon. Qingdao Hotel Management College and Home Inn should start from the threeaspects--potential excavation, cost control and evaluation mechanism and by means of theoptimization of classes and teaching materials, the sharing mode of human resources and theenhancement of organization structure. Furthermore, they should continuously strengthen thepractices of teaching, establish scientific human resource management theory, perfect careerplanning and training system of staff, and realize the optimized value of human resources.
