Research On The Strategy Implementation Based-on Multi-Project Management

With the development of the international economy, the outside environment ofenterprise has changed from mass production, with essentially stable customer requirementsandslowlychangingtechnology,tothecurrentsituationwhereeveryproductsuppliedmaybeagainst a bespoke design and technology changes continuously and rapidly, and competitionbecomesfiercer.StrategyManagementandProjectManagementareusedbymanyenterprisesas methods to manage the changes. But new problems are floated along with the increasingnumberof theprojectswhichthe enterprises have toface synchronously. Theseproblemsare:how to ensure the projects can keep consistent with the organizational strategies and achievethestrategicgoaleffectively;howtoorganize,harmonizeandmanagetheseprojectsperfectly.Multi-Project Management (MPM) are put forward for these reasons. In this paper aframework of MPM is developed, and besides, the used of MPM to strategy implementationisdiscussed.This paper started with the analysis of the background of MPM, it discusses therelationship among strategy, projects and the development of the enterprise. The problemswhich Project Management and Strategy Management can not solve in the environment ofmulti-projectsareanalyzedtodiscusstheneedofMPM.Then, the definition of MPM is given on the basis of introducing the related terms. Inaddition,therelationshipbetweenMPMandProjectManagementisdiscussedinthepaper.Next we suggest a framework of MPM from three aspects: the management phases, theorganizational support structure and the information support system. Through the framework,theenterprise'sstrategiesareembodiedtomultipleprojects,andMPMbecomesthemainwaytoimplementthesestrategies.Atlastwedevelopedthemodelofstrategyimplementationbased-onthetheoryofMPM,through which the problem of strategy implementation is turned into the problem of MPM.We took an IT enterprise for example to discuss the application of MPM to strategyimplementation. In the example,theselectionof multi-projectsare themainpart tointroduce,through which the problems of strategy implementation the enterprise faced in the past aresolvedsuccessfully.
