Since 1980s, enterprise strategic alliance has come forth like spring sprouts, and the inter-enterprise cooperation has developed rapidly. There are also many Chinese enterprises, which have built alliances in different ways recently, such as Haier and Sanyo, TCL and Panasonic, TCL and Philips, Konka and Samsung, and so on. Strategic alliances have already populated in the world. The ideas and their initial practices of enterprise strategic alliances have offered productive seminal for Chinese enterprises'vying internationally. But in alliance, competition co-exists with cooperation, which results in many difficulties in management. So it's a very important issue of 21st century to study the problems of competition and cooperation in enterprise strategic alliance, and to provide some useful suggestions according to the realities of Chinese strategic alliance building.This paper includes six chapters in logic:Chapter one is preface. It mainly introduces this paper's background and significance, the study state at home and abroad, the framework, and the study methods.Chapter two is the theoretical foundation of enterprise strategic alliance. Enterprise strategic alliance has its own specialties as the"most important innovative organization of late 20th century". This chapter introduces the definition of enterprise strategic alliance briefly, as well as its differences with Mergers & Acquisitions, with Cartel and virtue enterprise. The emergence of enterprise strategic alliance has absorbed scholars'high attention, and scholars have discussed its theory foundations in different views. This paper has picked up such theories and made a brief presentation on them.Chapter three analyses the relationship of competition and cooperation in enterprise strategic alliance. Competition and cooperation are of equal importance. This paper analyses the relationship from three aspects: co-existence, contradiction, and appropriation. It also sets an example with the alliance of Microsoft and Intel to analyze its competition and cooperation.Chapter four analyses the management of competition and cooperation in enterprise strategic alliances.
