The Study On Competency Model Among The College Students With Part-time Jobs

Abstract/Summary:
This study reviews the opening stage of the competency, the definitions of the competency and the development of the competency at home and abroad briefly. At the same time, considering that the difficult employment as college students are now a common phenomenon in this society, the competency model of the college students with part-time jobs is this study main content.With the survey and BEI, there are the three studies as follows, for the purpose of establishing the competency model among the college students with part-time jobs and the current situation:Studyl:Using behavioral event interviews and a preliminary questionnaire to establish an open competency model of part-time students.Study2:According to research the reliability and validity testing of "part-time students'competency self-assessment questionnaire," that compiled by Study 1 to verify the model.Study3:Different demographic statistical variables of part-time students under different levels of competency. The results show that:1.Competency model part-time students are multi-dimensional structure, including four factors:the ability to work, achievement motivation, job quality, personality characteristics; four factors model has reasonable validity.2. The preparation of a "part-time college students self-assessment questionnaire of competency",with good reliability and validity, could serve as part-time students competency assessment tool.3.Competency part-time students there is no significant gender differences4. Part-time students' recognition of competency and capability in the total score, achievement motivation, professional character, four dimensions of personality, there were significant grade differences, including senior and the other three grades in total and four-dimensional degree were significantly different.5.Part-time students'competency and capability in the total score, achievement motivation, professional character, personality, there is significant differences between subjects.In the total score, working capacity, achievement motivation, and professional character and personality, there is significant differences between humanities and science;science subjects and arts subjects are significantly different in the professional and moral dimensions.6. Factors on student work experience, part-time students competency in total score and 4 dimensions served as student leaders or not are significant different.7.Part-time students' competency in achievement motivation has significant differences between different academic burden.. Further analysis found that:in the total score between easy and heavy academic burden, general and heavy academic burden are significantly different; in achievement motivation between easily and heavy academic burden has significant difference; in professional and moral dimensions between the burden of general and heavy there is significant difference.
