In the process of urbanization and economic booming, people have already lost too many valuable things, including the living space and environment that we have been relying on till now. In exchange of economic development, our society has put our environment and natural resource in danger. All these results in trapping people into the corner with severe environmental pollution and low quality of life. Looking around at where we are living, haze in the air, less and less lakes, pollution in the rivers, barren lands and etc. all make vicious circles for both human and environment. Which is closely related to human resources lakes have also been subjected to serious harm to the overall environment of the city and the surrounding area had a negative impact. Most of the developed countries have actively engaged in dealing with the water pollution long time ago. They give full play to the role of government and non-governmental organizations, to take all kinds of effective measures to carry out ecosystem restoration and protection of natural environment, try to avoid the city’s economic development use the "pollution first, treatment later" approach to development. They developed effective ways to recover the eco-system as well as balancing the economic development and environment protection. As to China, we are still in the stage of over exploitation and lacking of reservation of natural resource. Most of the lakes in the cities have gone forever from the map and the rest have been threatened. Now the environmental problems of our lakes have begun to attract attention, but the lake and the surrounding natural environment within the country have been subjected to a wide range of different degrees of persecution, the quality of life of nearby residents also will be affected, the relationship between the public and the natural environment of the lake becomes tense and harsh, but enterprises around the lake is still pour the pollutant on its own way.Under this situation, government and related agencies haven’t been able to give out effective plans to prevent it from developing more severely. What we have today is only a big picture of the future blue print. The more basic and valid steps need to be moved forward. That’s why the pollution is still on going. This article is based on the example of environmental management of Sha Lake in Wuhan. Learning from how developed countries effectively manage the pollution of the lakes, we can understand the role their governments playing in the whole process and combine their successful methods with our own criteria. By comparing our policies with developed countries in lake pollution management, we can point out the deficiencies and pitfalls of Wuhan local government in responding its duties. We are hoping to promote the restoring and recovering eco-system of Sha Lake and make a better living space for Wuhan local citizens.Meanwhile, we should not only focus on restoring the eco-system of Sha lake but also trying to find the source which causes severe pollution in Sha lake. Arosing the attention of Wuhan citizens and letting them know the importance of protecting our local lakes are also critical in promoting lake-protection plans. Thus education agencies like schools and universities should play a role in environmental policy advocacy. Restoring the eco-system of Sha Lake will be a tough and long-term endeavor for both government and local citizens. We hope to creat an environmental friendly society for the sake of nature and ourselves.
