Wetland which is the most important of human survival environment resources has become a new focus in the field of ecological protection. The information level of wetland protection and management has been an important symbol of wetland management. The information can bring about effective organization, dynamic update and effective management of wetland resources data. But at present the information level of wetland protection and management in Zhejiang Province can not been satisfied. Accordingly it has been a great significance to study and build wetland resources management information system based on GIS.Taking Wenzhou as an object, ArcGIS Engine component repository developed by ESRI Corporation and secondary component based development mode originated from the visualized programming process(introduced by the Microsoft) are employed to research on establishment of wetland resources management information systems. For the purpose of integrated storage of vector data and raster data, personal GeoDatabase data model is used to express complex graphic and attribute data. Moreover, the system consists of various function modules including geographic view, graph operation, advanced query, element selection, statistical table making, data editing and view output. These modules can be randomly assembled and dismantled. The system will provide a strong support for expansion and updating of the platform in the future.
