Studies On The Improvement Of Production And Operation In Hose Workshop Of Jingyan Company

Based on basic theories and methods in fundamental industrial engineering,studies on production site improvement and management in hose workshop wasconducted for Tianjin Jingyan Construction Machinery Transmission Co., Ltd.Present situation in workshop and its warehouse was analyzed systematically.Defects and shortcomings are pointed out. An improvement scheme about equipmentlayout was suggested and the site management was optimized. Combining practicalproblems with warehouse management principles, some purposeful managingmethods were presented.Industrial Engineering (shortly in IE hereafter) is a world-establishedengineering discipline, which combines engineering specialities with managementscience to stop wasting and increase productivity and economic efficiency.Equipment layout and warehouse management are two branches in IE area. Firstly,the development and present situation of IE was studied in the paper in order toprovide theoretical basis for the improvement design of the company with the mostupdated IE theory. And then, theory and method about equipment layout andoperation improvement were researched. A concrete improvement scheme wassuggested aiming at existing problems in the company. The equipment in theworkshop is rearranged and operation procedure improvement was suggested. Theworkshop site was modified according to 5S theory. Lastly, warehouse managementwas designed and ABC classification method was applied to the company.
