Operating Strategy Research Of Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company

As the first foreign-invested joint venture of the People's Republic of China, Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company has successfully developed for 54 years. Entering the 21^st century, the accelerating pace of globalization has facilitated the development of international economy and trade. More and more multinational corporations have come forth. The buyer's market in international shipping business has been further formed, and clients proposed new and higher requirements on the transportation service provided by shipping enterprises. Facing more and more fierce competitions in the shipping market, how to further expand the venture's own advantages, fix the position and seek for a suitable developing way for the venture to catch the opportunities and conquer the challenges, is really the problem that the Company has to solve urgently.This thesis carries out a deepgoing analysis on the problem based on how to realize a continuous development of the Company. After brief introduction of the venture's basic conditions, the thesis studies the external environments of the venture from the aspects of marco environments of shipping business, developing environments, competition environments, and characteristic external conditions of the venture, and points out the favorable and adverse factors in the venture's operation and development from the external environments.Then, the thesis makes a comprehensive analysis on the venture's internal environments from four aspects including sales management, internal operation management, human resource management and venture's culture construction, and points out the venture's advantages and disadvantages.Lastly, the thesis conducts the method of SWOT to analyze the venture's characteristics and the market's conditions, and proposesfollowing assumptions of strategies: the Company shall implement the Duke Strategy as a whole. The shipping business shall insist on developing a high-quality and strong fleet, and choose the role as "a worldwide specialist of break bulk transportation" as the venture' future developing trend. The land industries shall adhere to the integration and establishment of four businesses including Chinese side owned fleet, self-contained logistic service, vessel procurement oriented trades and real estate development and management. To implement the above mentioned targets, the thesis proposed detailed suggestions and measures.
