Operating strategy is that a company responds to changeable environment with promptness on condition that its initiatives are consistent with its mission and the mission has been fulfilled, then the company defines its business, direction and competing statics. The company is supposed to create as well as take full advantage of various opportunities in order to conduct its operations. Generally, the aim of operating strategy is to optimize the resource and structure of the company. Compassed by increasingly fierce and fickle operating environment, each company is assumed to ascertain, determine and then follow the right path in order to enhance its status in business circle. H Company is a renowned and popular brand in Vietnam food market. Along with the growth of national economics, H Company has accumulated enormous valuable experience from operations. After devoted effort of20years, H Company has evolved from a plain candy workshop, employing only dozens of workers, to a large company consisting of9subsidiaries. It is assumed that the critical point to achieve success for both H company and its group lies in strategies such as acquisition, merge, cooperation, concentration, centralized growth, broad diversified manufacturing and operating. The entrance to WTO has brought Vietnam to a more changeable business environment, hence it is perilous to place hope on former experience to maintain its sustainable development. The purpose of this paper is to enhance the position of H company in domestic and overseas market and find the appropriate development direction, by applying specialty knowledge to the practical field. As applying during the master’s course accepted professional knowledge’s’. I have chosen Vietnam H stock company’s business strategy chosen research for my thesis topic.In terms of external environment analysis, this paper employs PEST to assess the macro environment; for micro environment, it adopts Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model to identify the industry structure; meanwhile, it uses CPM to evaluate H company as well as its competitors; finally, it applies EFE to conclude how the company responds to the external opportunity and threat.As for internal environment, this paper presents a detailed dissection of the company specifically in aspects like management, marketing, financial, processing and technology etc., by listing some facts and index.It analyizes the actual condition of the company both theoretically and practically.Then, it evaluates and summarizes the internal environment entirely by IFE. Ultimately, through using IE, on the basis of former conclusions by different tools, this paper initiates to select the reasonable and appropriate strengthening strategy for the companies. It also indicates some implication and suggestion for strategic planning of H Company.
