To implement urbanization strategy and accelerate it at a great speed is an importantly strategic measure in the Outline of the Tenth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development. At the same time the Outline points that the development of small town is the important way of urbanization. Solving the housing problems of floating population in small town, promoting the rural urbanization process, and seeking the best combination of peasant entering into town to build house and sustainable utilization of land resource becomes an urgent question for study at present and in the future.At first this text analyses current situation about the life and inhabiting of the floating population in small town, and through contrast analyses the important factor influencing on the floating population to move into the small town completely, and probes into the housing problems of migratory population; Then using city economics and real estate economics as tool, analyzes the housing problems of floating population deeply, and probes into the method to solve it; Finally uses experience on solving the housing problems of low medium-income grouping in the city abroad for reference, and proposes some countermeasures for housing problems of the floating population in the small town and relevant supplementary measures.On one hand the research of this text will offer decision guidance for settlement to housing problems of floating population in small town, and offer the decision basis for promoting the transformation of the surplus rural labor force; On the other hand offer the decision thinking for promoting the sustainable development of the small town.
