As a specific demographic phenomenon, population migration has always beenthe concern of scholars in various fields. China’s economic and social development isat a critical period, when the economic growth pattern and adjustment of economicstructure is changing, so the floating population problem affects every nerve of thesociety. Especially in this metropolis, the impact of the floating population is moreobvious, and it is even more important. After decades of development, the floatingpopulation in Beijing has undergone tremendous changes, in other words, there havebeen many important new features. The impact of floating population on the economy,is a major problem for Beijing to achieve a fundamental change and to maintain astable and healthy economic This paper will attempt to introduce the economicapproach to quantitative analysis of the current population of the economiccontribution.This paper attempts to analyze the impact of population migration in Beijing oneconomic growth, Review of basic theory and relevant research literature onpopulation movements and economic growth in order to achieve this goal, first, andthen a concrete analysis of the status quo of Beijing’s floating population andeconomic development, a combination of qualitative and quantitative approach toanalyze the flow of population on economic development, concluded the studyconclusions and make Beijing floating population actively play the positive effect ofthe economic policy recommendations.Specifically, this paper is divided into six parts, the first part is the Introduction,Introduction, including five small parts: What is the background of the research,what’s the purpose and significance of the research, the ideas and methods used in thisstudy, definition, the focus,the difficulties and innovation. The second part is relatedto the theory and literature review, in introducing relevant theories, I will have thetraditional model of representative population movements of Marxist theory,development economics, economic theories of labor migration were brief, and in theliterature review, is not a simple list of all about population movements research,instead, associated with this article on the economic development perspectives. Thethird part is a description of the floating population in Beijing and economicdevelopment situation, in the part of the floating population described by the regionaldistribution of the floating population, gender, cultural composition of household registration, leave the household registration time and the reasons for the sixintroduced, also, in part in the Beijing economic Development Status describes by theBeijing region’s GDP, with an average annual growth rate of the three industries.Fourth and fifth part of the article is the core part of the thesis, the fourth part of themodel, measure of the contribution rate of economic growth model based on thetheory of effective labor and C-D production function to construct the floatingpopulation, combined with the actual given each parameter estimation method. Thefifth part is the impact of population movement in Beijing on economic growthempirical study, the model established by Chapter IV, a measurement of the floatingpopulation in Beijing in1990-2011years of contribution to the economic growth rate,calculation results show that the floating population on the economy contribution tothe growth rate increased year by year, nearly10years more than20%annually. Thesixth part of the research findings and policy recommendations, mainly actively playthe Beijing population movements on the policy recommendations of the positiveeffects of economic development.
