Belt conveyer is a continuous transportation equipment driven by motor. It can transpor tmaterial and finished produets, using widely in Industrial and agricultural production. A normal、stable operation of transport system is a guarantee to improve production efficiency.But at present, in the domain of domestic Industrial and mining enterprises, some enterprises still use the belt conveyers which are very original in control, the operation of equipment is completed by operators manually and the function of monitoring is not so complete.the capabibity of data sharing is poor, and safety precautions are weak, what is more, it is difficult for the control center to grasp the production conditions, and is also diffcult for enterprises to make decisions on integral information management.Because of these defects, accidents happen frequently, safety of the staff is seriously threatened, and development of production is restricted.With the new situation of the enlargement of enterprise production and the boost of safety requirement,it stands in need of equipping new-generation, safe, high-efficient, quick and convenient secureity monitor management system of production so as to meet the development demands of production.In this dissertation, Fieldbus Control System (FCS) has been analyzed and the difference between DCS and traditional DCS has also been discussed. According to the operation character and functional requirement of transport system, a kind of Distributed Control System (DCS) is designed based on fieldbus technique.The system inherits the advantages of DCS and FCS to achieve conveyor belt protection and monitoring, it is reliable, high real-time, easy to operate and manage.Firstly, the belt conveyor monitoring system hardware has been designed. Belt conveyor monitoring system is divided into stand-alone monitoring and centralized monitoring of two forms. Each on-site control station uses S7-200PLC as the core controller of the belt conveyor to conduct an independent process control, with touch-screen as a HMI for manual control and real-time process monitoring of the belt conveyor to achieve a stand-alone monitoring. Use PROFIBUS that is widely used in the field of process control to achieve the communication links, the stand-alone monitoring system via PROFIBUS-DP protocol bus access to monitoring center. Monitoring center receives the running state information from every on-site station, and sends command to every on-site sation. the entire system is under control of monitoring center achieving a centralized monitoring function. Secondly, the belt conveyor monitoring system software has been designed.Analysed the protocol structure and function of PROFIBUS-DP,and constructed communication net works base on PROFIBUS-DP.In belt Conveyor monitoring systems, monitoring center is the first class DP master station, on-site control station is DP slave and HMI is the second class DP master station. The first class DP master station communicates with DP slave by using master-slave mode, the communication of the second DP master station and the DP slave is in the same way. In the master-slave communication process, the monitoring software WinCC is connected with on-site controller by using OPC technology. Achieved communication between WinCC and S7-200PLC.At last, used WinCC as a minitoring interface design platform, introduced the configuration software designing steps and development process. According to the control of belt conveyor process, conducted a monitoring program design and production of graphical interface, and also alarm interface, data archiving, user management and project safety has been designed.
