The conveyer belt with steel wire ropes has been widely used in mines, ports and docks. It is one of the main transmission equipments for the modernized production all over the world. Due to its loads are increased, scratched by obstacles, aging and so on, they easily cause the steel wire ropes corrosion, fracture as well as the joint elongation. In case of a breakdown of which will cause huge economic losses and casualties, and the safety of production will be seriously influenced.This thesis presents a detailed design program based on X-ray non-destructive testing to conveyer belt with steel wire ropes. On the basis of the hardware design of non-destructive detector, Ethernet interface is developed, and the LwIP is transplanted. By using Xilinx integrated development environment EDK and Xilkernel operating system, communication software between the nondestructive detector and the mainframe is designed. It realizes the real-time image transmission of the conveyer belt with steel wire ropes. By using the algorithm of image enhancement, image restoration, image geometry transform and image segmentation for processing the conveyer belt with steel wire ropes, joint elongation determination algorithm and belt intensity calculation algorithm are presented. As well as a system image processing software is developed by using the C#.NET programming design language in the platform of Windows XP, it realizes the function of real-time image transmission, processing and failure detection to the conveyer belt with steel wire ropes.The tests indicate that this system can achieve real-time image transmission, processing and testing of the conveyer belt. The transmission rate is up to 640 Mbps. It can find the fault of 10.24mm joint elongation or 10% belt intensity decrease and give alarm timely. At the same time it is of high stability and detection accuracy and provides a simple and convenient operation software interface. It has broad application prospects.
