Mathematics plays an important role in the development of human civilization, promoting great progress in science and technology. After World War II, the relationship between mathematics and society has undergone a fundamental change. Mathematics has worked deep into every field from natural science to social science. In particular, from the new century, science and technology has developed rapidly. Digitization of information and information processing has become the common core technology of almost all mathematical high-tech projects. Emphasis has been laid on mathematical techniques in many aspects, from design in advance, programming to experiment and exploration, continuous improvement, and even to command and control, specific operation. Due to the progress of the last 20 years, many areas of social science have developed far beyond the reach of whoever gets no involved in mathematics. In the new century, the development of science and technology and production made unprecedented demand to mathematics. We must seize the opportunity to increase investment, enhance the mathematics research and mathematics education and improve the nation's math standards to better meet the challenges ahead.As a public, instrumental and basic subject, mathematics is attracting more and more attention from school education. Since China has vigorously developed vocational education, especially in the new century, higher vocational education has trained a large number of high-quality personnel for the national and local economic development who can adapt to production, construction, management and service. Higher vocational education must equip students with the necessary knowledge of higher mathematics to lay the foundation for their further learning in their specialized courses.The rapid development of information technology has driven the growing of computer professional constantly, while Computer Professional Education has made great contributions to the development of China's information technology. As a basis to computer professional, advanced mathematics provide the necessary theoretical basis for vocational students to learn professional-skill courses. However, in many higher vocational colleges, due to various reasons, math is often not given due attention. The students'interest in learning mathematics is significantly lower comparing to specialized courses. Teaching methods are simple and outdated, ignoring the relationship between learning mathematics and professional. Therefore, it is the food for thought for every computer professional mathematics teacher that teachers should take effective mathematics teaching reform based on the students'majors and combination of vocational students "mathematical reality", so as to make the students get ready for the future study and work through their learning of mathematicsTo fully understand the actual situation of mathematics teaching in higher vocational colleges, the author visited several colleges, and had discussed with teachers who served in mathematics, computer science courses about mathematics curricula, teaching methods, teaching mode and so on. So, the author grasps some practical situation in front-line mathematics teaching. The author also has some individual interviews with students, learning the reasons for their lack of interest in mathematics, as well as their views on education reform. Besides, the author conducted a survey of four classes of Computer Department in Shandong Institute of Trade Union's Administrative Cadres. The contents of the questionnaires include their interest in mathematics and their present situation of leaning mathematics, the factors of influencing their interest in mathematics and their views on educational reform. Access to the data collation and analysis, a reliable data was obtained.Analyzing the results of the survey, this paper shows the current situation and problems of higher vocational mathematics teaching in computer professional. Through further research and practice, it explores effective ways and means to raise the students'interest in mathematics, as well as four teaching strategies to improve the teaching quality. It also gives some reasonable suggestions about mathematics teaching materials, student work, and the reform of mathematics assessment. The above aspects of the study are designed to help students change from passive acceptance of knowledge to self-exploration activities, from the "what to learn" to "how to learn", and mobilize their enthusiasm and the ability of lifelong learning; and to help teachers shift from a focus on imparting knowledge to promoting the development of students'learning abilities, from a focus on students'knowledge accumulating to it's developing process and methods of obtaining knowledge.
