Network optimization is an important task in mobile communication. Network optimization is a complex and important work, which is directly related to user perception and impact on network quality involving many aspects of the network.Analysis on network quality by Signaling System 7 monitoring system monitoring system provide some useful help for the smooth development of network optimization.NO.7 Signaling Monitoring System can collect signaling link, analyze signaling protocol synthetically and the quality of network, track call signaling flow and analyze signaling flow such as TUP ISUP MAP CAP BSSAP etc. deeply. It plays an important role in network optimization, analysis of network, the orientation of fault cause and processing of complaint. It is a significant method of network maintenance.The author is one of the maintenance personnel of core network in China United Telecommunication Corporation Tianjin Branch. In the daily work he uses the SS7 Monitoring System actively. He puts it into practice such as network maintenance, network optimization and so on and makes it edge tool of network maintenance. In this paper the author introduced the application of SS7 Monitoring System in network maintenance and network optimization. It is a process of dealing with the network problem and research in subject.The application of SS7 Monitoring System:it can supply gist of orientation for the drop of network turn-on rate, single relay circuit and hard complaint.The author analyzed the caller delay, short message delay and disturbance call by using the business supporting effect of SS7 Monitoring System in the network optimization. And he confirmed the development and optimization of the task through the analysis of signaling flow and records. To optimize the signaling flow one should develop the switching space of optimization fully and reduce the unnecessary signaling message in the major of switch and transmission. The evaluation of optimization strategies and effects by using SS7 Monitoring System can provide gist to the implementation of task.
