Linear frequency modulated continuous wave radar (LFMCWR) possesses many advantages, such as simple structure, no distance blindness, high range resolution, low emission power, higher range measurement precision, etc. With the development and improvement of measuring radar in the proving ground, research on LFMCWR attracts more attention recently. Aiming at the design of chirp radar tracking controller, research and application on range measurement theories and algorithms of LFMCWR emitting symmetric triangular wave were carried out. We designed and implemented the hardware of a LFMCWR tracking controller, and debugged it successfully.The present study mainly focuses on the simulation of range measurement theories and algorithms of LFMCWR emitting symmetric triangular wave and hardware design and software test of the LFMCWR tracking controller. The thesis finished the following research:1) We introduced the ranging principle of LFMCWR, presented the detailed ranging theories and algorithms of LFMCWR emitting symmetric triangular wave, and simulated these algorithms using MATLAB.The simulation results demonstrate that high ranging accuracy is achieved in theory by the tracking controller of LFMCWR.2, System scheme and general structure design. The thesis discussed LFMCWR tracking controller system design principles, introduced the general structure of LFMCWR and the workflow and hardware system design of the LFMCWR tracking controller, and implemented the circuit design of the DSP (ADSP TS201) and FPGA (EP2C35) structure parallel circuit board consisting of a two ADSP TS201 chip and an FPGA chip.3, Hardware design is the core of this issue. The paper described the structure and functions of ADSP TS201 chip of Analog Device Incorporation (ADI) in detail, which is the core device of the entire system. In view of the whole system, the tracking controller communicates with the host through PCI bus. The CYPRESS compancy's CY7C09449PV chip is used to implement the communication bridge, and it consequently facilitates the system design and debugging. And then the detailed circuits of each module were designed separately.4, Test of Hardware platform. The desertation completed the testing of the core algorithm of LFMCWR tracking controller. Hardware platform test results show that the system can work correctly. It shows that the time requirements of the tracking controller are satisfied.Finally, the paper summarizes the completed work in this thesis, and put forward future research for LFMCWR tracking controller.
