USB interface has been become the standard interface of computer peripheral with its advantages such as high speed, plug and play, self-powered and so on, at the same time, short distance wireless transmission technology such as Bluetooth and IrDA has been widely used in various kinds of electronic products, and shows a strong momentum of development. The thesis combines the two technologies and designs a short distance wireless data transmission system based on USB2.0 which is a good solution to wireless file transfers between computers in a room.Firstly, the thesis compares several kinds of short distance wireless transmission technologies, chooses micro power short distance wireless transmission technology which is more suitable for the system and then illustrates the current situation of USB technology. Secondly, the thesis presents a thorough study of USB2.0 bus standard protocol and introduces the important concepts and terms. Thirdly, the thesis elaborates on a general designing plan of this system. The system includes a transmitter and a receiver, which is composed of a USB module and a wireless transfer module. Modularization idea is applied in discuss the two modules including choice of MCU and wireless chip, analysis of USB and SPI communication principle, design of hardware circuit, writing of MCU firmware program and host application program.The debug, analysis and test of the whole system are very important part. The paper tests not only the USB module s driver installation, maximum transmission rate and data correctness but also the wireless module s transmission distance and the transfer files format, size and rate. Experiments improve that the system can transfer files which have different size and different format, at the same time the speed can reach 280kbps.The design has some advantages such as low production cost, small size, low power consumption, high data transmission rate, steady performance and so on, which has a practical application value and a good market prospect.
