The Theory And Practice Of Public Libraries Providing Information Service To Migrrant Workers Which Based On The Research Of Public Libraries In Kunming

Migrant workers are followed with Chinese Government's reform and opening up, it's a special group in China.According concerning statistical data,to the end of 2009,the number of the group has raised to 20 million.So large group is a challenge to the consruction of harmonious society.They do what the city people don't like, dirty and tired is the most vivid portrayal of their work.Their low and variable income lead to their spiritual lives'extreme poverty which is the fundamental reason causes their poor lives. Only by tackling the root causes of poverty , their plight can be changed ultimately.Public libraries are welfare of the cultural institutions, as a treasure house of knowledge of human culture,its unique cultural resources and the nature of public welfare, charged with the realization of civil information acquisition, transmission, use of free responsibility. The paper plans to provide humane care to migrant workers from the perspective of public libraries.Through the analysising of the living conditions of migrant workers in Kunming, and the characteristics of their information access, needs, combined with the status of Kunming City Public Libraries providing information services for the migrant workers, to achieve a balance between the two, at last the paper will provide some opinions and suggestions for Public libraries's information services . At the same time,the author has a strong desire to cause the relevant departments'attention,and get help and support from them.There are six parts in this paper:The first section inrtoduces the present reseaerh siutation both at home and abroad,researh significance,innovation and research method of the theme.;the second section analysises the fuction of infortion and Pblic Libraries;the third section makes a design to know about the information needs of migrant workers in Kunming;the forth part introduces the status of the Pblic Libraries offering information service to migtant works in Kunming;the fifth provide some suggestion; the last part summarizes the main thought of the paper.
