The Study On Shenzhen Public Libraries' Service To Migrant Workers

By using the questionnaire survey and the character interview,we can obtain the first hand information of the rural migrant workers' living status,work status,information needs,information literacy,library needs and utilization.Through statistical analysis of collected data,we can understand the migrant workers'information demand and the current situation of library utilization.The author has investigated and analyzed the situation of the rural migrant workers in Shenzhen Municipal Public Libraries and directly subordinate libraries,district public libraries and branches,street libraries,community libraries and self-help libraries through field investigation and Internet survey.The of migrant workers,the current situation of library utilization and the current situation of public libraries serving migrant workers are compared.By comparing migrant workers' information needs and the pulice libraries' service for the group,to analyze the problems and shortcomings of the current public library service for migrant workers in Shenzhen.And from the perspective of government,public libraries,social forces and migrant workers,The end of this paper puts forward solutions and countermeasures from the perspective of government,public libraries,social forces and migrant workers.From the point of view of the public library itself,the public library should improve the construction of the literature resources,strengthen the propaganda work of the library,carry out the targeted library activities and construct the service system of the migrant workers in the public library.From the point of view of the support of the government departments for the library,we can make efforts to promote the transformation of ideas,to promote the formulation of institutional policies and to promote the supply of funds.From the perspective of the active participation of social forces in the public library,we can encourage enterprises to participate in the construction of libraries,actively cooperate with social organizations and give full play to the strength of volunteers.From the point of view that the public library helps the migrant workers to improve the information literacy,the public library can help the migrant workers improve the awareness of information acquisition,help the migrant workers to learn the various kinds of knowledge used by the library,and help the migrant workers to cultivate the habit of using the library.
