With the development of computer and network communication technology, the research of IPTV and Mobile TV is developing rapidly and the number of available channels is increasing greatly. This makes it difficult for viewers to find programs they are interested in from extremely large number of programs provided by EPG. On the other hand, compared with the server of a home network, the hardware capability of mobile TVs is poor. As a result, it is difficult to implement some complicated entertainment services provided by home networks for mobile TVs.In this thesis, a hybrid EPG recommender framework is proposed to solve the existing problems of EPG. And its strong suit and feasibility is analyzed and demonstrated. This framework is of significance in meeting the personalized demand and making them more satisfied.IPG Parser and ESG Parser in the hybrid EPG recommender system are XML parsers, and should be portable. So XML parsing technology based on tree structure is adopted. Due to the larger number of ESG services, the demand for module extensibility is high. Therefore, it is a good idea to use template method pattern to design the parser. This makes the extensibility of service modules and the collaboration among them pretty well.Finally, experiments on the parsers have been done. The results show that the two proposed parsers work well, and can accurately get the program information for the hybrid EPG recommender system.
