As an important means of transport, car plays a huge role in the people's production and life especially in the recent years. With the rapid development of economy and the raising of people living standard, the number of car is growing constantly. It makes the demand of Vehicle Monitoring and Management increasingly significant. The Design of the vehicle terminal in this paper is produced on the result of this demand.Vehicle terminal is an important part of vehicle monitoring and management system, by GPS module for latitude and longitude, altitude, direction, location information and using CAN bus obtaining torque, speed, total vehicle fuel consumption and other data. Then the information collected is transmitted through the GPRS network to the main station and processed by it. In this way, we can make it reality on achieve real-time location, trip tracking, historical track playback, alarm to deviate from the line of police, ACC monitoring, speed alarm functions. It provides strong security for the realization of a vehicle monitoring and management.GPS positioning function and CAN bus communication terminal design is the focus of this paper. And based on describing of the basic working principle, the using of the NMEA communication protocol for GPS and the CAN data structures for system will be analyzed also. GPRS network communication is a bridge between terminal and the main station. The use of its communication protocol GB/T18657.3-2002 is the key to the success and this part of the article will be described in detail. In order to further improve the terminal functions, the design add a SD card to ensure that information is not lost. This paper gets file system to introduce its use. It also added the terminal information memory chip to ensure the safety and reliability of the terminal work. In this part, I2C interface is important to the function of the information memory. In addition, in order to make the terminal work steady, power supply section has done a brilliant design. These six functions are equipped with a clear circuit diagram. Some of them have program or process flow chart. So the readers have a comprehensive understanding to the design of Vehicle Monitoring and Management terminal.I participated in the project development process in hardware design and software design, and final testing and adjusting. So I have a comprehensive understanding for the project achieved. Through this research raise my level of R & D and hope readers to correct me with my gratitude.
