Virtual instrument technology which makes outstanding contribution to improvement of machining precision and product quality has been developed rapidly since the concept of"the software is the instrument"was put forward. Intelligent controls-oriented virtual instrument (IVC) which is also called Qin's Model instrument is a new concept of instrument. Its main idea is that unintelligent virtual control can be turned into intelligent instrument units with the function of measurement instruments by the function endowing and test fusing, then the intelligent virtual control can be used as basic building blocks for various complex virtual measurement instruments. VMIDS (Virtual Measurement Instrument Development System) is an object-oriented, flexible meta-synthesis and auto-programming system based on the Qin's Model. Further study on application of configuration technology in development of VMIDS is made by using the implementation method of industrial control configuration software for reference in the thesis.With the development of industrial monitoring system and distributed control system, the configuration technology is growing up. The operation mechanism and implementation method of graphic configuration model, function configuration model, data configuration, device configuration and system architecture of configuration software are discussed in the thesis. The basic principle of implementation of configuration software is that the basic part and tools are settled and the part can be changed by user turns into data which can be produced by those tools.VMIDS4.0 is upgrading developed according to implementation method of configuration software and Qin's Model theory. Software architecture based on configuration technology, event-driven and dataflow-driven mechanism are built. Structure and its implementation method and unified interface of function library are designed. Transformation of control library is made in order to fit to the new function interface. New way to implement function endowing and method of creating, saving, calling user-defined function are put forward in the thesis. Noise and vibration function library is established based on new organization form of function library.VMIDS4.0 has the following advantages compared with the previous version.①Dataflow-driven mechanism is added to the system.②Functions can be called in the entire system. ③Data management module is established through which users can observe all data of the system and the data can be used in different instruments.④Parameter of function can be configured when function endowing is executing and single interface of control can be endowed a combined function.⑤User-defined function based on function combination can be built and the user-defined function has the same characteristic with general function.Summarization of the thesis and expectations of the next research aspects are in the end of the thesis.
