In the process of grinding ores, the productivity of the mill will be increased with the increment of the operating rotation speed ranged under special value, so that arising the rotation speed of mill will enhance the productivity of mill. But when the rotary speed of general mill is raised near or beyond the critical value, the grinding media and ores in cylinder of mill will act centrifugal motion. As a result, the productivity of mill will not only stop enhancing but also decline sharply so that the ores can hardly be grinded though the rotary speed keeps rising. Ultracritical rotation speed autogenous mill(URSAM) is a new kind of grinding equipment which can attain high productivity while its operating speed exceeds critical value. A guiding mechanism is equipped in cylinder of URSAM. When URSAM operates in ultracritical rotation speed, the grinding media and ores processing centrifugal motion impact the guiding mechanism. Altered by the guiding mechanism, the grinding media and ores are forced to motion in parabola locus decided by the guiding mechanism. Centrifugal motion of the grinding media and ores are changed into parabola motion. Thus, there exist furious impact and mill between ores, and between ores and the guiding mechanism. The productive capacity of URSAM is enhanced this way.URSAM is a new-pattern and highly efficient mill which is still in trial stage. Because a guiding mechanism is equipped in cylinder and ores in high rotation impact the guiding mechanism furiously, vibration of URSAM will increase. On the other hand, the raise of operating speed always brings about more acute vibration to equipment either. Since the value of vibration is one of standards to judge whether a trial equipment can be used in industrialization, the vibration intensity and vibration rule of URSAM are important parameter and aspect.This paper describes the developing trend and current research on mill, analyses the realistic significance of inventing URSAM, brings forward the theoretical basis of device for URSAM, introduces detailedly the structure and the operating principle of URSAM, and outlines the grinding character of URSAM. Based on a great deal of literature and combined with the real research, the paper introduces the way to carry out vibration measurement by using Virtual Instrument technology established onLab VIEW software. In this subject research, Virtual Instrument technology is applied to measure out the vibration intensity and find out the vibration rule of URSAM inworking state. The inherent frequency of key parts--guiding mechanism ismeasured out as well.The research approach used in this paper and the conclusion drawn from this subject research can play a positive role in realizing the industrialization of URSAM early.
