Data processing is an important facotor for virtual instrument. The whole operation of the instruments is the couse of data processing and display actually. Rock model is the theory of formation and integration of"border without limit"virtual intelligent control instrument library. According to rock model theory, a large number of intelligent control-oriented virtual instruments can be built for analysis. The virtual measurement instrument developmet system (VMIDS) based on intelligent virtual control was developed earlier. However, the previous can not meet the general requirements. To solve the general problem, it must be settled firstly the problem of data sharing and display.This paper is mainly introduced data acquisition, management and display in VMIDS.①Study intelligent virtual control theoryThis included the concepts of the intelligent virtual control, Qin's model, rock model, and VMIDS composition. The formats of variable data, unified data management module based on intelligent virtual control were defined.②Realization of sampling functions which support various data acquisition cardTypically, the analytic data of virtual instrument was collected by the data acquisition equipment. Therefore, a complete virtual instrument development system needed to have a fully functional data acquisition module for data acquisition. The application of virtual instrument development system was much largely affected by data acquisition function was rich or not. Reference to other virtual instrument development system for processing data acquisition, data acquisition module in VMIDS was develped by using VC++, and data acquisition assistant was also built. The profile of sampling card can be setted by the interface of data acquisition functions or assistant.③Research theory about visualization in scientific computing (VISC) and development of intelligent virtual display controlsThe theory of VISC was studied in this part. The universal intelligent virtual display controls with rich display and computer interactive functions was built by using visualization tools. The display functions of display contrls were varieties data types display, multiple display modes (wave, histogram, XY graphic, and intensity graphic). The computer interactive functions were zoom in/out, cursor capture, line/log coordinate transformation, export image and so on.④Development of order analysis function library based on rock modelOrder analysis was commonly used in rotating machinery fault analysis methods. Many virtual instrument software also include order analysis. In this paper, the order analysis function library reference to the previous theoretical results about order analysis was developed ,and added in VMIDS. The example of order analysis was given. The result indicates that the order analysis library is correct for order analysis.In the end, the summary of whole paper and the directions for the future research are given.
