With the rapid development of construction, tower crane has been widely used, which has played an irreplaceable role in the construction industry. Because tower crane operation belongs to high-altitude risk operation, the Chinese government legislates on the crane driving training. The regulation is that a new driver must be trained in government-approved training center, and obtain qualification certification before engaging in this work. However, the traditional method, which great impact by human factors and weather conditions, is longer training time, higher cost. If slightly improper operation, it will cause serious consequences.It is in the case that tower crane virtual operating system has been proposed. The virtual operating system takes the computer system as the core, control console as the based. It sets Machine-Electric-Liquid-Automation Technology-Virtual reality technology in one system. It simulates the working process of tower crane, which is used to train tower crane driver.Aiming at the visual simulation of tower crane virtual operating system, theory and technical issues of scene modeling, modeling driven, and load characteristics are studied. The operation processes of tower crane with load swing and without load swing based on the theory of time delay filtering are simulated. The main research contents are as follows:(1) Taking the Eleventh National Games'bicycle venue construction sites as the model objects, a virtual scene model is created based on the three-dimensional modeling software, Creator. First, it creates the grounds, pavements, buildings, trees, street lamps and other objects one by one in the Creator by using its various modeling tools; Then, it puts all objects into a master file by the external reference function to create the virtual scene which consistent with the actual environment. And it enhances the realism of virtual environments and user immersion in the virtual environment.(2) It uses the model driver software Vega to driven models, which achieves the function of real-time interaction between users and the models of the scene. The model files of the scene and tower crane are loaded in Vega's graphical user interface LynX. Then it sets the relevant parameters to generate Application Definition File——.adf file. The model-driven has been achieved by calling the Vega programming interface functions in the VC++editor environment.(3) The operation processes of tower crane with load swing and without load swing based on the theory of time-delay filter are simulated in the virtual operating system. First, after analyzing the characteristics of tower crane sports and dynamic nonlinear models, the liner dynamical models are deduced from non-liner-ones under certain conditions. The payload oscillations are expressed in formula. The oscillation performance of payload is simulated by Matlab software. The payload oscillation is realized by calling Vega functions in VC++editor environment. That simulates the working process with load swing. Then, according to time-delay filter theory, the effect of eliminating load swing is simulated in the tower crane virtual operating system. That simulates the working process without load swing. The working processes of tower crane are simulated respectively without operating experience of the driver and with operating experience of the driver. It effectively simulates the load pendulum swing and the working process of moving the load without swing. So students feel the difference of two operations, which enhance the feeling of operating real equipments.It is ensured that the virtual operating system has the characteristics of scene realistic, dynamic strong, practical, full-featured.
