Batching belt scale is a continuous totalizing automatic weighing instrument. It has played a critical role in coal, chemical industry, metallurgy, building materials, food and other sectors that are crucial to national economy and people's livelihood. The cumulant control of some mixed materials batching is realized by batching scale. This accurate cumulant control can cut down the cost of manufacture, improve the quality of the product and enhance the efficiency of labor.Taking a reference on a great deal of data in both Chinese and English, the paper first has an introduction to the status of development for batching scale controller at home and abroad, and then components and operating principle of the batching scale. According to the design requirements for flow control of a batching scale, this paper designs a batching scale controller with AT91SAM7X256 single chip microcomputer as the master control chip. This controller has adopted Two-channel data collection. The weight of material can be measured in both forward channel and back channel in order that if one of the channels is in fault, the batching belt scale can still work in good condition. Also, it adopts CS5532 for A/D conversion to enhance the accuracy of measurement.Besides, in combination of hardware circuit and control algorithm, this paper has designed the software for batching scale controller. As the entire system software is huge and complex, the design migrates FreeRTOS operating system to MCU to implement tasks like communication, weighing, PID control, keyboard and display, second application, detection in speed channel and coordinating module tasks, making reasonable resource allocation to subroutines. This paper takes the cumulant of materials to be weighted by batching scale as the controlled object and analyze advantages and disadvantages between PID control and fuzzy control. By applying fuzzy PID control, batching scale system can fit the complex work environment and have a real-time response. Finally, it makes a comparison of traditional PID, fuzzy control and fuzzy PID control through simulation, using SIMULINK platform in MATLAB. And the result shows that fuzzy PID control has better control performance than PID control.This paper has mainly designed the hardware and software of batching scale controller based on PID control. Furthermore, it has researched fuzzy PID control. It can adjust PID parameters immediately. Compared by simulation, the performance of fuzzy PID control has been proved.This paper has designed the hardware and software of batching scale instrument based on PID control. It has also researched the control method of batching scale based on fuzzy PID control by simulation, which prepared to improve the accuracy of measurement for batching scale controller.This research is resulted from the output control of batching scale in Shanxi automatic instrument limited company.
