On Mass Media Representation Of Chinese Nationalism In The New Era

Nationalism in China is arising rapidly in recent years as the rising of Chinese comprehensive strength. The study on nationalism is becoming a hot issue because it relates to a lot of important topics such as politics, economy, culture, International relationship and so on. In modern society media is a significant strength in guiding the public opinion and constructing unique national culture and emotion. In hence, the media play a key role in modling future Chinese nationalism.This article base on a series of nationalism events on media in China in 2008. Through the analysis of different type of nationalism in different type of media, to make a clear understanding of the positive and negative aspect of nationalism. Meanwhile, the public opinion rising by nationalism is very specially and should be treated by especially methods. Media control,the hard way and public opinion guidance, the soft way should be combined to shape a new and healthy nationalism, and promote the peaceful rise of China finally.
