Research On Project Management Of SYNU Adult Educational Management System

Today's society is at the age of rapidly changing information, and this change is reflected particularly in information industry. The speed of technological innovation is becoming ever faster. With a changing user demands and market, staff transformation is also greatly accelerated. Under this circumstance, enterprises need to respond to more changes and challenges, and they may also encounter large number of problems and challenges in management. As software industry is an emerging industry with abundant of challenges and creativity, there is no mature experience to borrow in management. Project management could be an effective management method for software business, particularly for those which based on software application and development. Therefore, more and more attention has been given to project management in software development.In this paper, we first introduce some theories related with project management. By analyzing the theories, we find the whole process of project management compose of nine knowledge fields, in which cost management, time management and quality management are the centerpieces. Basing on this, through the introduction of SYNU Adult Educational Management System development project, we generalize the model of this project. Then, we, in this paper, further analyze some problems of project management in the process of GQ Company's software development project. Starting with cost, time and quality management, we introduce the current situations of these three aspects in the process of software development, and pointed out some of the existing problems. Then, considering both project management theory and the actual situation of the company, we propose specific and practical management models and measures to improve the management of these areas.To be specific, from the aspect of cost management of a project, we propose a new cost calculation model and set up complete procedures of cost management and supportive management measures gearing at cost evaluation, cost budget and cost control. This has made cost calculation more scientific, cost budget and control more convenient. From the aspect of time management, existing problems now are that project staff lack time pressure, schedules decouple with actual progress and there is a shortage of progress control. We specially set up single process for tasks; improve week review to perfect the time plan for projects. At the same time, we optimize the procedures of time management; add a progress control so as to improve the existing project delay. From the aspect of quality management, we first set up an independent quality team, and then we tackle the specific problems in quality management by making new plans, setting up guarantee system and control procedures. This has significantly enhanced the quality of products of project development. GQ Company integrated the measures in cost, time and quality management by implementing an improved plan in the later stage of SYNU project and establishing appropriate supportive management procedures. By doing this, they not only handed over satisfied products before the deadline, but greatly reduced resource waste as well, saving the total cost. This ultimately helped GQ Company improve project management and development capabilities in the process of developing software form universities.Through the research of this typical case, we closely related a specific case with theories, guiding work in field with project management theories. Analyzing the current situation of GQ Company in project management helped us find out the root of the problem, put forward detailed measure, assisting the company accomplish successfully SYNU project as well as posing a far-reaching influence on theory research and management practice. On one hand, it provides reference for research in field related with project management, and set an example for project management research in higher education system. On the other hand, we hope it can guide software developers when carrying out actual project management and direct a path for universities to enhance the level and quality of project management, boosting the expansion of applied software development. Meanwhile, it plays a positive role in promoting adult education and other work so as to ensure efficiency and scientific, while it can make a good example for brother universities in Adult Education Management System.This paper will be divided into six parts:The first chapter is an introduction section. We mainly introduced the purpose and significance of this study, as well as the main content and framework structure.The second chapter describes the project development model. We mainly described the characteristics of software project management and software project management theories for solving the problems in the development. At the same time SYNU Adult Education Management System Project Development model was also outlined. And finally we analysis the status and problems of GQ company in time management, cost management and quality management these three aspects of software project management.Chapter III is mainly about the plans for cost management improvement. It raises specific measures to solve the problems in cost evaluation, budget and control in GQ Company.Chapter IV focuses on the plans for time management improvement. It puts forward specific measures to solve the problems in making schedules and controlling progress in GQ Company.Chapter V talks about the plans for quality management improvement. It raises specific measures for quality plan, guarantee and control problems in GQ Company.Finally, in Chapter VI we make a brief description of the results of the implementation. We also present the significance, limit and outlook of this research.
