Research Of Library Management System Based On RFID Technology

RFID is an untouched automatic identification technology, composed of an electron tag, a reader and an antenna. RFID has long Performance life, long reading distance, data on label encrypting, great capacity, and stored information free altering. It may replace the bar code and magnetic needles. As a result of knowledge economy time, the rapid growth of the amount of information and the development of internet technology have driven the increasing of library book collection. The library function has already transformed the traditional model of the documentation center into the reader-centered mode of readers Center. Therefore how to manage the massive books effectively in order to better serve the reader becomes the most important subject of library managementThe practical significance of this issue is through comparing the application of bar code in library management and the application of RFID technology in library management to propose the implementation program in library management based on radio frequency identification technology. Information will be encoded into a special electronic tags and labels are affixed to the information that need to be identified. The content of tag can be dynamically changed; can reduce the flow of work and increase the safety of staff. The application of RFID system in the library management updates the traditional bar code technology and the security mechanism of magnetic stripe; accelerates the process of automated library management, as well as provides a hardware platform to the construction of digital libraries. Although the current library management system is still use the bar code technology, the application of RFID in library management will become an inevitable trend with the RFID tag technology maturing and cost reducingThe main research results are as following:Firstly, introduced a few common automatic identification technologies, and for them a more comprehensive analysis and comparison. Then analyze the RFID system composition, classifications, characteristics, applications and internet of things. Explore the principles of RFID.Secondly, analyze and compare the difference of the bar code and the RFID in the management work application of library.Finally, we present RFID system's solution plan, point out the Problem that need to be resolved.
