Design And Implementation Of Library Management System Based On RFID Technology

RFID technology appears in the1950s. This is a means to identify objects withradio frequency communication. Each object has a unique identification, called tag. Areader can communicate with tag via radio waves, thus completing the data exchange.Reader processing the data returned from the tag, decoding the data and returning by theconventional computer system for further processing. A reader can read multiple tag’sdata at the same time to achieve rapid non-contact identification of objects.Modern Library commonly used bar-code technology-based library managementtechnology. Administrators use the bar-code scanner get information for the bar on book,and then processed by computer systems. A scanner captures reflected back laser fromthe bar code to identify object. Such recognition can have only identify a book once atime. When borrowing and returning books, we need to manually open the books to findthe location and barcode scanning through book inefficient. Meanwhile, the bar code iseasy to damage, contamination weak. Frequent occurrence of damage can not read dataline code situation which affects the efficiency of the borrowing and returning books,the library also affect the reader’s satisfaction.This thesis uses the software engineering approach to the design of theRFID-based library system for barcode technology problems presents a viable solution,to improve the library to borrow books and books also manage efficiency. The maintasks include:1. To provide readers with self-service borrowing and returning books, the wholeprocess does not require library staff to participate;2. Use the UHF RFID tags, real-time monitoring books position and providingbooks location information;3. Proposed level units with shelves of books bent method based on RFIDtechnology;4. To provide a single scan multiple books functionality.
