After "taking economic construction as the center" in the Third Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the party in 1978, people have desired for economic information day after day, economic news have been accounted more and more, the functions of economic news for which spreading information, guiding economic development have been showed increasingly, it means that economic news came into the rapid development period.Paper differentiates some opinions of defines about economic news at first, and sums up the history of economic news in the new historical period. In order to get a typical discussion, the thesis choose typical news papers "Economic Daily" and "21st Century Economy Report" as the case study, though the unified study of macroscopic content analysis and typical report case analysis, set out the development of Chinese economic news after reform and opening-up. As changing of the social environment, economic report can be divided two periods in new century for boundaries, and it presents the obvious differences in these periods, and there are two periods accordingly, on the former is called the period of traditional economic news, the later is period of the new financial reports. The paper set out the characteristic of the two paper's report content and approach in detail.The achievements of Chinese economic news are obvious, however, the defects cannot be ignored yet.
