With the continuous transformation of the economic and social system, Chinese economic media and news reports have undergone a corresponding change since 1990's. In order to fulfill the increasing needs of exchanging economic information, Chinese media and news reports have gradually developed to be more professional and adjusted themselves to the core of the market economy, and therefore set up a new discourse model, which reconstructed the society and influenced the process of economic reform. Under the guidance of the critical discourse theory and based on the method of discourse analysis and history- dialectic study, the author chooses ten typical sample discourses(two groups) of the economic news reports, and compares the two sample groups from many aspects including the macro-structure, super-structure, micro-structure, style, rhetoric and "intercourse-text". As a result, three characteristics of change from the discourses of Chinese economic news reports can be concluded. First, the science discourse, especially the western economic terms, has replaced the official politics discourse in a certain degree. Second, the journalism-specialized discourse has been developed and constructed. Third, the mass discourse has evolved to the elite discourse. Following an analysis of the social-historical reason for such changes, the author argues that the changes contribute to the "restoration" of the media, promote the development of Chinese economic reform and the democratization of Chinese society. Moreover, the changes will be a continuous process along with the social transformation.
