The numerical control flame cutters are extremely widely applied in steel plate cutting and the welding industry. With the rapid development of computer technology, NC system has become a comprehensive system with highly integrated hardware and software. Before applying in the practical production, the newly developed cutting machine system must be tested repeatedly on the compatible NC devices. However, the high cost of NC devices and insecurity in connecting process with actual running machine make the testing process inconvenient. Therefore, the virtual testing system research of cutting machine NC system has very important significance. This virtual test system designed to test cutting machine NC system on the basis of simulating some functions of NC devices, and the author completes the building of PC-based system and software platform.Through the analysis of objective functions and design principles in NC cutting machine virtual test system, this paper describes the overall structure of this test system, and conceives software system structure and hardware platform of NC testing system. The system uses PC's rich software and hardware resources, and establishes the software model of NC machine simulation testing object by analyzing the input and output signals of NC system; The system realizes communication between test system and NC system, and deals with I/O signal; By NC system's movement instruction, the test system can draw machining trajectory to realizes the test and evaluation of NC system's function and performance.The system's software development environment uses LabWindows/CVI combined with RTX. The LabWindows/CVI program is responsible for non-real-time work, such as data display, analysis and management; The RTX procedures for real-time work, such as data acquisition and device control; the hardware platform communicating with NC system is a FPGA-based data acquisition module, which deals logical operations with reading location pulse signal and I/O signal.This thesis focuses on the establishment of NC flame cutting machine's virtual test system, and the last debugging with M-CUT CNC cutting machine of True Technology Development Co., Ltd. validates that the designed test system has basically reached its expected functions.
