With the daily popularity of mobile phone, PDA and other mobile terminal equipment, and the rapid development of GPRS, 3G and other mobile communications technologies, the combination of wireless communications and Internet technology advantages provided more convenient, faster and more freewheeling services for people. At the same time, Java technology has also been in-depth development in wireless communication field and many of solutions of PDA application based on J2ME have been emerged. Because of the small, convenient features and cross-platform advantages, the technology gradually occupied the leading role or the mobile application market. On the other hand, Wireless ToolKit (WTK) that sun microsystems provided has brought great convenience for the J2ME development. Integrated into the IDE such as Jbuilder or Eclipse, WTK greatly enhanced the efficiency of PDA application systems development.As part of Java technology, J2ME designed specifically for mobile devices, its applications can run on different devices of different manufacturers. The paper addresses some deficiencies and defects of the agriculture irrigation process, use the J2ME's network communication function to develop an irrigation water ?distribution and query system and provide mainly real-time interactive information between the irrigation staff and the central station. The system consists of PDA water distribution terminal and center station inquiry system. By building water distribution system based on J2ME platform, PDA terminal achieve mainly the following functions: receive instruction, inquiry web data, upload images irrigation, upload water distribution information, messaging, network settings, user management and historical data. The inquiry system mainly built the web services for responding to inquiry and database support, and aim to achieve the following functions: send instruction, provide Web-related data inquiry, receive upload images, send warning messages, respond requests and the client user management.In the design and implementation process of irrigation water distribution terminal and inquiry system, the paper used the mobile network technology, J2ME technology, Web Service technology and database technology, and this effective combination of several techniques. In software design, the paper based on the design patterns in software engineering and MVC (Model-View-Controller) Framework. In the development platform, the PDA terminal software is developed in Eclipse development platform added Eclipseme plugin, and the inquiry System is developed in mainstream MyEclipse enterprise development platform. Thus, it brings great convenience for the development of the whole system, and provides a strong theory and framework support for the realization of the system.In this paper, the water distribution terminal and inquiry system bridge the information interaction between irrigation staff and central station, which not only greatly satisfy farmers on the real-time requirements of farmland irrigation, but also bring great convenience for the irrigation staff and even played an important role in the development of irrigation field.
