Research And Realization Of Remote Management Protocol For Home Network

With the wide spread of the broadband access to families and the fast development of a variety of digital services, a growing number of IP terminals are introduced to home networks. As the conventional network management based on SNMP cannot yet fulfill that need, it raises an urgent problem that how to realize the interconnection among home terminals with remote auto-configuration in order to reduce the cost of operation and management.With the character of home network as carrying a large number of telecommunication services and guaranteeing the quality of end-to-end service, the management of home network equipments should include auto-configuration and dynamic service provisioning, the software and hardware upgrading, status and performance monitoring, and diagnostics for the equipments.TR-069 is one of the technology specifications that comes from Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Forum, whose full name is "CPE WAN Management Protocol (CWMP)", which can support many kind of digital home services. However, it is a new standard and has not reached the stage of implementation scheme and framework. With the background of "remote management for home networks", this paper has the significant importance of implement the main functions in the TR-069 protocol.This paper firstly gives an overview of TR-069 protocol, and introduces the protocol layer in details with analysis to implement in software. Following, we propose a universal implementation scheme for TR-069 protocol function models, and divide the protocol to the HTTP listening sub-model and the events handling sub-model. Furthermore, the events handling sub-model includes RPC method model, diagram processing and transport model. The proposed scheme and implementation of each model is explained in details in this paper.Through testing, the proposal is proved to receive messages from analog ACS machine, and make effective processing to meet the basic function of CPE. This paper implements the main function in the TR-069 protocol, and gives a guiding idea help to the research in the home networks remote management.
