With the development of communication techniques and wireless multimedia services, UWB wireless communication technique has attracted more and more attention in the world. It is one of the technologies with excellent prospect due to the advantages of high transmission speed, low power consumption, good confidentiality, strong anti-interference ability. As the key component of UWB system, UWB filter will affect the performance of the UWB system significantly.This thesis mainly focuses on the analysis and design of UWB bandpass filter. At first, the basic design theory of the traditional narrow-band filter and the difficulties to design UWB bandpass filter are introduced. Then the current UWB filter design methods are summarized in the thesis.A filter design method based on the space mapping algorithm is developed.The contents of this thesis are summarized as follows:1.UWB filter composed of high-pass and low-pass filters are folded to reduce the total size, while the overall performance of the filters is maintained. The structure using Substrate Integrated Waveguide is used to reduce the insertion loss(IL).2. The odd-even-mode UWB design methods, network synthesis methods, optimization method are studied. Detailed analysis of UWB filter based on multi-mode resonator is presented.3.A new method using the advanced space mapping algorithm to design UWB filters is discussed. The method combines the advantages of the coarse model with that of the fine model.Thus UWB filters can be designed rapidly and accurately. An example is designed to verify the feasibility and usability.
