With the fast development of the manufacturing industry of molds, quotation relied on individual experience obviously can not meet the needs of market competition and changes. The inappropriate quotation not only leads enterprises to lose the market and credit easily, but also cause an unbalanced revenue and expenditure. At the same time , the development of CE and CSCW requires enterprises to provide the estimated cost and price of the mold at the different stages of design and manufacture. Therefore, it has become a common concern of manufacturers and customers to develop a set of molds quotation system which can reflect the production capacity of the manufacture, as well as satisfy the demands of consumers in accuracy timely.The paper develops a Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) plastic injection molds cost quotation system based on the thought of CE on the subject of plastic injection molds. By studying the constituent elements of mold price and the mold cost quotation research status, combined with the actual situation of mold factories, this paper exploits a new plastic injection molds price quotation method which connects the CBR technology with the CAPP technology. The paper first codes the features of plastic product and mold after a detail analysis of the main elements that affect the mold cost, then build a weight matrix of these features by using the F-AHP method and quantifies the similarity successfully.
