Wireless Intelligent Family Monitor System Based On GPRS Network

People spend less and less time taking care of family as the fast rhythm of life in modern society, then family wealth's safety is going to be a hidden danger. The traditional family monitor system connect monitor peers with monitor center by local area network, someone have to observe the screen anytime, this methods is a waste of time and energy. Meanwhile, leading to low reliability.With the developing of wireless monitor technology, designing an intelligent family monitor system which can judge family status automatically, notifying user by short message when necessary no matter where user is, user can query the status of family anytime and anywhere, is becoming very necessary.This paper design an intelligent family monitor system, which transmit monitor video data by GPRS network. By using advanced video compression technology, the system has a widen monitor scene range, user can query family monitor scene at any place. Meanwhile, an intelligent alarm system is designed to protect wealth's safety by notifying user when something abnormal happened, the video segment during this period will be saved at local monitor peer.At the beginning of the paper, the feature of the family monitor is analyzed, in view of existing family wireless monitor system's shortcoming, system's structure is designed. The paper select H.264 as video compression algorithm to overcome the low bandwidth of transmission channel. ARM processor is core of the whole hardware system, some external device is expanded in order to realize the complicated H.264 algorithm and other functions of family monitor system. Then, bootload, embedded Linux and file system is transplanted to build a fundamental development environment. Drivers of external devices are designed and transplanted. Finally, the intelligent alarm algorithm is designed and realized by application programe.The reliability and practicability are proved by system's debug and test. At the end of the paper, research achievements are concluded, some ideas about system'sfurther research are brought up.
